What am I loving this week? Well first, I'm loving my big splurge. No, it's not jewelry. It's not a car (that would be a HUGE splurge, not just big). It's not any kind of electronics. It's....
A Dyson!
Back on March 6th, the Woot deal of the day was a Dyson and this thing was marked at 50% off of the original retail price and was only $5 for shipping. I have REALLY been wanting one of these for a while. The vacuum that we had before this one just plain stinks. Really. It barely picks up anything, is a pain in the tail to empty, and you have to wash out the filter with water just about every time you use it. It's terrible. So, I've really been wanting a Dyson but I was not going to pay full price for it. So lucky me when I found this deal!
I called Kevin as soon as I saw it. They actually had it in red, yellow, purple and pink. I asked if I could get pink. He said no. I said too bad. It was sold out. So I went with purple. It was the only one they had in stock. I'm happy.
It came in on Monday and I tried it out immediately. Either this thing is awesome or my floors were disgusting. Probably a combination of both. So it goes without saying, but I love my Dyson!
I also love my new iPhone apps- Red Stamp and Project 365. I saw this tutorial here on how to do Project 365 from your phone and I knew I wanted to try it out. For those of you who don't know what Project 365 (which would be my mom, because I know she's reading this), it's pretty self explanatory. Basically, you take a picture every day for a whole year. So I've been taking a picture a day for the past 4-5 days with my phone, putting a cute little caption on it using Red Stamp, and then loading it into the Project 365 app to keep track of which pictures were taken on which day. Here are a couple that I've done...
And Kevin and I are both loving this new recipe for crockpot chicken and dumplings. I bought all of the ingredients for it this weekend, before looking at the weather forecast, and then of course it ends up being 80 degrees when we try it out. Oh well! It was still great and super easy.
Ingredients:
2-3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 can of cream of celery soup (I subbed cream of mushroom and it was great)
3 15-oz cans of chicken broth
1 small onion, chopped
chopped carrots
chopped celery
1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
1/2 tbsp celery seed
salt and pepper to taste
1 can of biscuits (Grands), cut into 6 pieces each
Place everything except for the biscuits into the crock pot and cook on low for 6ish hours.
Then take out chicken and shred it or chop it- whatever is easiest. Place the chicken back in the crock pot and add the biscuits. Cook for about 1.5 more hours on low. That's it! It was so good.
And again, it goes without saying that I'm loving my cute little girl and husband. Sorry to the husband, but other than the above picture of him, all I have are pictures of Kate. :)
Oh, and I love my "boys" too! Max and Cooper hardly ever make an appearance on this blog since Kate joined the family. We haven't forgotten about them though!
Love her little dress in the last pictures...how precious!
ReplyDeleteOur Dyson made our carpet look so much better. What a great deal!
ReplyDeleteThat Kate and her cheeks...too adorable.
I think I just might need a Dyson! We have two very hairy dogs and a crawler. YUCK! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for another deal on woot :)
ReplyDeleteApparently they do the Dyson deal every few months. I saw it back in December but it was RIGHT after Christmas, so we waited. They're refurbished, but to me it didn't matter. I LOVE it. :)
DeleteOMG is she standing up in this picture?!?! Seriously?!?! If so....slow down Kate :) haha love the stages they go through
ReplyDeleteYES, she is! She can't pull up on her own, but if you stand her up with her back against the couch (or something steady), she'll just stand there all by herself. I wish she WOULD slow down! :) I hope we can meet up for lunch or something after busy season!
