Girl Day at the Children's Museum

With busy season over, I took last Friday off from work and my mom and sister came over for a "girl day" with Kate. We intended to take her to the zoo but it was rainy and yucky so we ended up at the Children's Museum.  I wasn't sure how much Kate would enjoy since she's still pretty young, but she had a blast.  So did we!  I know when she is a little older, she'll love it even more.  It was definitely a great rainy afternoon treat.  I'll let the pictures do the talking, with just a little bit of commentary by me. :)

We started off in the children's grocery store.  I think Kate was a little confused that it wasn't REAL food.  I kind of expected her to try to take a bite out of one of the apples.

And then we went downstairs to the water section.  Some of those kids were getting INTO it and splashing water everywhere.  Since I'd totally forgotten about this section and failed to bring a change of clothes, we didn't stay down here very long.

Next stop was the music room.  There were lots of things to bang on and play with in this room.  It was pretty fun even for the grown ups! :)

We made our way back upstairs to the "farm" area.  There was a tree with a big slide and Kate had so much fun going down it, first by herself, and then with Aunt Kristi and with me.

One of the things that I liked the most was the GIGANTIC Lite-Brite board.

By the time we made our way to the race car, we were all ready to sit down. The museum is 3 stories tall and FILLED with so much fun.  You could spend an entire day there.  We stayed about 3 hours and skipped over a lot of stuff that was above Kate's level.  If you have a Children's Museum anywhere near you, go check it out.  And if you live anywhere in Upstate SC, I can attest that the one in Greenville is pretty great.

    1. Thank you! 20 months is definitely a fun age, but I've always said "this is my favorite age" at every age she has been! Enjoy the 10 month stage. :) You'll have plenty of fun days like this in the future.
